Shindagha Museum has been beautifully renovated over the last few years and is honestly one of the most unique museums in Dubai. It's open from 10am till 8pm, It covers every aspect of Dubai’s history, culture, food, traditions, architecture, and how the UAE was built and developed over the years. Everything is explained in great detail, making it an amazing place for anyone who wants to understand Dubai beyond the modern skyscrapers. The best part is that it is extremely interactive, so it never feels like a boring museum. Many of the exhibits have activities, visuals, sound effects, films, and even small cinemas showing stories about Dubai’s past. There is also a dedicated children’s museum with lots of interactive activities, making it a great family outing as well. If you are someone who truly enjoys museums, you can easily spend the entire day here because there is just so much information and so many different themed rooms to explore. You buy one ticket from the main ticket counter, and then use that same ticket to enter all the different museum houses and exhibits. The rooms are not interconnected, so after finishing one section, you exit and walk to the next one, scanning your ticket each time. This actually makes the experience even better because you can take breaks in between, stop for coffee, have lunch, relax by the creek, and then continue again. All the museum rooms are fully air-conditioned and very comfortable. There are also plenty of benches and seating areas throughout the museum if you need to rest your feet. Some rooms even have small movie theatres or immersive activities that make the experience more enjoyable. Another beautiful part of the experience is the location itself. The museum is set in old Dubai, right next to the creek, with lovely views, a nice breeze, beautiful traditional architecture, sculptures, and waterfront pathways. Even just walking around the area gives you a wonderful feeling of old Dubai. The staff are also incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to explain things in detail if you have questions. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes around the museum too, offering both authentic traditional food and more modern dining options. It is truly the perfect day out if you want to experience the culture, history, and atmosphere of Dubai.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited Al Shindagha Museum, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. The museum is beautifully designed and gives a deep insight into Dubai’s history, culture, and traditional way of life. Every section is very well explained with clear information, visuals, audio guides, and interactive displays. The museum is extremely clean, well-organized, and peaceful. Staff members are friendly, polite, and always ready to help, which made the visit even more enjoyable. I really appreciated how the museum tells the story of Dubai’s transformation from the past to the present in such an engaging and educational way. This place is perfect for families, tourists, and residents who want to learn more about Emirati heritage. Overall, Al Shindagha Museum is a must-visit cultural destination in Dubai. Highly recommended!

Was able to get a discounted ticket through a website. Amazing museum that's well worth the visit with 25 different exhibition halls each covering a different aspect of life in Dubai. Really enjoyed the perfume house and the Dubai Creek where a super friendly tour guide gave me a private tour of the exhibit. Easily spend 3-4 hours here. I went to every exhibit and it was worth traversing the entire complex.

I would advise to come as soon as they open if you want to finish all of the houses in this museum. UAE have such a rich culture and you will know it all from here. Also would like to make note that security staff here are very diligent. They do their job well and very kind.

I had a 12 hour layover in Dubai and having already visited all the main sights on a past trip I was looking for something close to the airport to pass the time. The Al Shindagha Museum is a sprawling museum complex located a 5 minute walk from the nearest Metro station which has a direct line from the airport. It can get very hot walking between museums but each is airconditioned inside. There was some confusion over where to buy an entry ticket as the main building told me to go the children's museum and then they sent me back but this was quickly sorted. I started my visit with the short 15 minute video in the theatre about the history of Dubai. There are lots of little alleys to explore with various themed museums around each corner. You show the ticket QR code on your phone at each museum to gain entry. I was there mid afternoon on a Thursday and had the entire place to myself. The displays are interactive, incorporating technology and audio visual effects along with artefacts and dioramas. My favourite museums were the archeology one, the perfume one, the food one and the culture of the sea. Special mention to Noora at the Food House who gave me black coffee and dates on the floor mat and then took me on a private tour of the gallery and answered all the questions I had. I spent about 5 hours here and covered about 80% of the museums. All the staff were lovely. Strong recommend if you have a stopover and want to pass some time near the airport. Entry about $20AUD.

Such a well designed museum - different houses present different aspects of the national culture and history, all well presented and explained, both in English and Arabic. We also enjoyed the candle making workshop! Plan to spend about half a day here - we had two hours and did not manage to cover all the buildings. The buildings themselves and the location are also very picturesque. Highly recommend

Big museum area in multiple buildings. Some very nice exhibitions and history of the Dubai Creek area and some archeological findinds. Very clean, no crowds and airconditioned. Well worth the visit. We spent 2 hours and visited 4 of the 22 buildings/exhibitions. The most interesting ones where Dubai Creek: Birth of the City and Saruq Al Hadid archelogical area findings. Easy access with Metro. Nice area overall to walk to Souqs and Al Fahidi historical district.

We were taken through the various sections of the pavilion by Bdoor Abdullah Alkamali. She shared her knowledge of the history of the creek together with some family memories. Bdoor explained the stages of the history of the creek extremely clearly. I would recommend this pavilion and the perfume house to anyone wanting to understand how Dubai developed throughout time.

The Shindagha Museum is an exciting journey through the history and culture of Dubai. Located on the banks of Dubai Creek, this museum complex reveals the rich heritage of the emirate and allows visitors to experience its atmosphere across different eras.

The museum's exhibitions include interactive displays, artifacts, photographs, and multimedia presentations that tell the stories of traditions, maritime activities, trade, art, and the daily lives of the indigenous population. Key themes include the influence of the Persian Gulf on the region's development, Dubai's role as a trading port, and the transition from village life to a modern metropolis.
